Naw Ruz Celebration 2014

The 2014 Naw Ruz celebration was wonderful! Thank you to all those who hosted. The evening's events included:

     1. A meet-and-greet activity on beauty

          

     2. A devotional portion with music, readings, and prayers

          

     3. Food, games, and fellowship

          

         

          

         

Youth/Junior Youth Game Night - May 16, 2014

The May game night was a blast as usual, with food, friends, and laughter.  We played "The Game of Things" and learned quite a bit about one another in the process! There were 8 people in attendance, including two friends that are new to Indianapolis from Seattle!

Core Activities for March-April 2014

Eastside Junior Youth: The JY are wrapping up on filming their music video “Fools Abuse”, by The Green Bean Machines. A special thank you to Grogh Hatcher for filming and editing the video!  A total of 13 JY worked on this service project, including two JY from the Baha’i community: Vanessa and Jena. Please plan to attend the First Friday premiere of their video on June 6th (see Events Calendar for details).

Indianapolis Assembly - election results and officers

The annual meeting and Assembly election took place on the first day of Ridvan, April 21, 2014 at the Indianapolis Baha'i Center.  The Assembly first met and elected officers on Wed., April 30.  The members and officers are as follows:

New website for the Universal House of Justice

The Baha'i World Center has recently launched a new website at http://universalhouseofjustice.bahai.org/ to act as the official source of information regarding the Universal House of Justice.  In addition to information about the history and purpose of the Supreme Body, the site provides links to selected messages of the House of Justice, such as the recent 2014 Ridvan message, as well as other documents including the Promise of World Peace and the Constitution of the Universal House of Justice.

Offer to Tutor Baha'i K-12 Student - Free of Charge!

Denise Buschmann has offered to tutor a student, within the Baha'i Community, free of charge who needs extra help. She is licensed in K-8 resource or special ed, K-6 regular classroom teaching, and 6-8 language arts/reading/social studies/resource. She is also licensed in K-12 reading and writing. Refer to the Indianapolis Baha'i Directory for her contact information.

Indianapolis Junior Youth Tap into their Creativity to Serve

The Eastside JY just completed recording their rap song “Fools Abuse”. Thanks to a friend, Greg, for recording and mixing the music! Next up, making a music video.

The JY have been invited to participate in a First Friday showing of their music video at the community center in their neighborhood. Here, they will also sell the bracelets they made to raise money for the local women’s shelter. The video will also be posted onto YouTube to raise even more awareness about domestic violence.
